The Triple Murders: Texas Authorities Arrest a Third Suspect for Her Involvement in the Murders of Pregnant Teen and Her Boyfriend

In a recent turn of events, Texas law enforcement officials, on Wednesday, arrested a woman in her possible involvement in the double murders of pregnant teen Savanah Soto and her boyfriend Matthew Guerra. The arrested woman has been identified as Myrta Romanos

During her arrest, the 47-year-old Myrta Romanos was escorted to a police vehicle, wearing a black Ozzy Osbourne shirt. She was asked for a comment by the media personnels present on the scene, but she refused to comment. San Antonio Police stated that Romanos, who according to authorities, is suspect Christopher Ray Preciado’s stepmother, has been charged with altering, destroying or concealing a corpse, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

The Horrific Triple Murders

Christopher, 19, had previously been charged with capital murder and abuse of a corpse. In addition to this, Christopher’s father, 53-year-old Ramon Preciado, was also charged with altering or destroying a human corpse and abuse of a corpse after allegedly helping his son Chrisopher cover up the crime by moving the bodies after the murders.

On December 26th, 2023, authorities discovered Soto 18, and her boyfriend, Guerra 22, were found dead in a car at the Colinas at Medical Apartments in San Antonio. At the time of the murder, Soto was nine months pregnant, and almost a week past her due date, her family told media.

According to details revealed by the authorities, Soto and Guerra were shot to death. The unborn child, who was to be named Fabian by the couple, also succumbed to the gun wounds sustained by Soto.

After discovering the bodies and carrying out an investigation, police concluded that the couple was killed as a result of a drug deal gone wrong. Although the bodies were discovered on 26th December, medical examiners and experts believe that the actual murder took place on December 21st, 2023. Soto and Guerra’s involvement in possessing and selling drugs was confirmed when the authorities found evidence on Soto’s and Guerra’s phones, confirming that the couple was selling drugs.

The Triple Suspects

As arrests were underway for the case, the authorities received several anonymous tips on social media that claimed that there may also be a third person involved in the murders apart from Christopher and his father. Based on these tips, detectives were able to develop enough probable cause to link Romanos to the case.

A surveillance video recovered by officers during the investigation allegedly showed Romanos, on the night of the murders, leaving the home in a black truck with Christopher and his father. The video also showed the three individuals returning back to the crime scene later in the night. Police officials also believed that it was Romanos’ gun that was used to commit the murders.

When asked about details regarding Romanos’ arrest, the authorities confirmed that they had received a lot of anonymous tips and leads regarding a “third individual” in the case, something that the department’s homicide detectives already knew. However, despite knowing this, the detectives couldn’t act since they were looking for enough probable cause to make Romanos a person of interest.

Ramos said San Antonio police are confident there are no more suspects in the killings.
