Teenage Darts Prodigy Bags Second Place

Luke Litter wins second place

Luke Litter is a 16-year-old darts prodigy. This teenager made a debut in the world championship of darts and made history by reaching the finals. Even though he was not able to win, he won the title of the runner-up. His family is filled with pride and happiness and stated that they are unbelievably proud of his achievements. The public was rooting for the youngster with his fairytale run to the final. He lost 7-4 to the world No. 1, Luke Humphries. The contest was held at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday night.

The financial profit that Luke got

The teenager bagged a total sum of £200,000. Experts suggest that the prodigy can make a fortune by taking up multiple sponsorship deals and endorsements. A strategy partner at advertising agency M&C Saatchi, Neil Hopkins said that Litter can easily command six figures through such deals.  Dan Tunna who is a sports marketing consultant that if Luke continues his journey in darts, then in 20 years his net worth can be approximately £40 million.

The dart expert is also known as Luke the Nuke, and his answer to how he would like to spend his savings is a little too GenZ. He would like to spend the money to buy a new coat along with virtual currency for a football video game EA Sports FC. His family came to support him on his big day accompanied by his girlfriend.

Caitlin Litter, Luke’s sister, paid tribute to his win on social media. She called him an “incredible talent.” She says that she is sure that her brother will win many more such competitions in the future. According to her, Luke went into the contest just to win one game. Even he did not predict that he would come second and that too at the age of sixteen.

His management firm said that even though Luke did not come home with a trophy, he did change the landscape of darts by bagging such a place at such a small age.

Views of his competitor, Humphries

Humphries, 28, competed against the 16-year-old. He paid tribute to his young rival by saying that he was unable to put into words how great he felt. He kept thinking at the back of his mind that he had to win this contest because he knew Luke would dominate all contests like these in the future. According to him, Luke is an incredible player.

Luke was relentless till the last moment. Humphries said that it was an unforgettable moment for him, for he had competed with such a young talent. Humphries suffered from severe anxiety that affected him greatly. This anxious feeling always made him quit sports but he is glad that he did not. And his willpower made him witness such a historical day.

Tottenham stars James Maddison and Romeo Beckham were also spotted enjoying the drama unfolding in front of them during the intense match. Maddison is a huge darts fan invited Luke Litter into his box for his team’s match against Bournemouth last week.
