America Hit by the Cold Arctic Blast, Schools Closed and Flights Cancelled

Arctic Blast has made America colder than ever

Americans have been on alert Tuesday due to the extreme weather conditions that have unfolded. Heavy snow, ice, and low chills have been experienced by many due to the artic blasts that have gripped everyone.

States from Louisiana to Maine, in total twenty-three states, were under weather advisories for snow and ice as seen on Tuesday. The snow is expected to change to rain over Boston by 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Florida might experience strong thunderstorms, the area that comes under this condition are Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Myers. There can be damaging winds along with an isolated tornado that the residents can experience. Schools have been closed nationwide due to these extreme weather conditions.

Snowfall experienced in many regions

Snowfall was experienced early Tuesday by the people in the Northeast region throughout Pennsylvania, and New Jersey along with New York City and Boston. There is a prediction that it will snow in these areas all morning.

It has been predicted by the weather system that the snowfall will come to a stop by 5 p.m. ET in New York City and 8 p.m. ET in Boston. However, the people will experience a light glaze of ice along with freezing rain, but the temperatures are going to warm back soon.

Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Maryland can see up to 6 inches of snow, whereas New York City to Boston can get a snowfall of 1 to 4 inches. Maine can be covered with 1 foot of snow.

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains have been warned of an Avalanche effect. The ski resort towns of Aspen and Vail, the mountains of Utah, and Salt Lake City can be affected by this effect.

Washington D.C. has not had snowfall for almost 728 days. This drought has officially ended as there were 3.4 inches of snow in D.C. on Monday. Baltimore had 4.1 inches of deep snow and ended its 716-day dry streak. Philadelphia experienced 1,5 inches of snow after 715 days.

The temperatures were below as of Tuesday morning in Dallas, Texas. The north can experience wind chills of -40 degrees Fahrenheit. In the southern region, the chills can be -10 degrees.

Parts of Texas that include Dallas, Houston, Austin, Lubbock, and Amarillo; as well as in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Denver, Colorado have recorded low temperatures on Tuesday morning.

Temperatures might get warmer

However, there is a sense of relief for the Americans as the temperature is about to get warmer later in the week. Till then the weather is going to be brutally cold. This Friday morning have predicted the wind chill to be around -20 degrees in Kansas City and -15 in Chicago.

Multiple wind storms have been predicted in the Pacific Northwest and it can rain heavily from Seattle, Washington, to San Francisco, California. There will be more snow in the upcoming days. Wednesday can be a lot more colder than Tuesday. On Friday there can be heavy snow in the regions of Washington, D.C. and areas that range from the Plains of the Dakotas, Nebraska and Missouri can experience heavy snow on Thursday.
