A new trend is about to be set with the adoption of the Fourth Wing by Prime Videos. This initiative was soon followed by another mentionable adoption of A Court of Thorns by Hulu. This announces a rise in the popularity of a genre called “romantasy”. This genre had already proven to be famous amongst the young readers of contemporary novels. 

The success of two consecutive series on renowned platforms would give the audience and producers more ideas about the future of adoption of such novels. Let us take a look at ten more novels that can be a perfect candidate for further adoption on OTT platforms. 

The Serpent and the Wings of Night:

Carissa Broadbent’s The Serpent and the Wings of Night, the first book in her Crowns of Nyaxia series, would arguably be a candidate for a powerful adoption. This novel follows the protagonist named Oraya who was trying to fit into a world of vampires. Along her journey, she had to encounter several conflicts and adventures. She also develops a connection with a rival who later turned into an ally. 

Blood and Ash:

Jennifer L. Armentrout’s From Blood and Ash, the first book in her Blood and Ash series would likely do great as an OTT adoption. The novel is based on the protagonist named Poppy. Poppy is an interesting character to follow as she goes through the ups and downs of personal growth and finally learns to take responsibility for her own kingdom. 

Divine Rivals: 

Rebecca Ross’ Divine Rivals, the first book in her Letters of Enchantment series, holds immense potential as a candidate for adoption. The story revolves around Iris, a 18 year old girl who tries her best to keep her family alive during a war between gods. The fans would swoon over the enemies-to-lovers trope of the novel and the on screen adoption would win hearts with several action packed scenes.

A Court of Thorns and Roses:

Sarah J. Maas had contributed to many fantasy TV adoptions. A Court of Thorns and Roses written by the famous author. This would attract fans as the main character gets knocked down in a fight and how she fights to get back at her foot. 

Once Upon a Broken Heart: 

Stephanie Garber’s Once Upon a Broken Heart is another honorable mention in this field. In this novel a desperate protagonist Evangeline would beg the prince of hearts for a favor. She would request him to stop her love of life from getting married to someone else. However her demand comes at a cost. With a strong caste, this emotional novel would be more than enough to win the hearts of the audience. 

The Cruel Prince:

The Cruel Prince, by Holly Black, is the first book in Black’s The Folk of the Air series. This book gets unraveled surrounding a girl who had lost her parents in childhood. She strives hard as she tries to make a place for herself in the court of fairies and fit into the magical world. 

Kingdom of the Wicked:

Kingdom of the Wicked, the first book in Kerri Maniscalco’s series of the same, would capture a lot of attention in the fantasy market. This novel is filled with violence, cruelty along with intense romance that makes one’s heart pound.

The Bridge Kingdom:

Danielle L. Jensen’s The Bridge Kingdom, the first book in the series of the same name, would be another addition to the list of candidates. This novel’s heroine, Lara, is determined to take down a rival kingdom only to be attracted to the king of the same rival kingdom. The dilemma and conflicting situations that she went through would make a strong audience base.
